This was written for the "Kissing Father Dom" contest at and ummm I was the only person who took it seriously. Hope you like it!
Dom sprinted under the breezeway of the Juperro Serra Mission. He hopped over a few pots of ornamental flowers. He saw a large pot of peonies and took a running start, just as he was about to jump over the pot when he heared a noise and turned to look if a novice was near. While looking he tripped over the edge of the terra cotta. He lander flat on his face and his books followed shortly after. "Oww..." He groaned. Dom flipped himself over and saw the face of a ghost, one he knew very well. She looked down at him and offered a hand. "What were you running from?" she asked "Tigers?" She laughed. It was a sweet, girly, but not annyoing laugh that made Dom feel a blush come from deep down. "Kate," He said. "You aren't supposed to be here." Dom had said that line to her for the past two years, ever since she had showed up at his spot in the courtyard at lunch. She giggled as she pulled him up and giggled again. Dom sighed and said, "Or maybe you are." She looked up at him, eyes wide. "What?" Dom realized his hands were shaking, "Kate," his voice faltered, "I love you." Kate threw her arms around him, "I am supposed to be here." She leaned over and kissed him. Dom was handsome, and this wasn't his first kiss, but was the sweetest, most caring, deepest kiss he had ever felt. Suddenly Kate pulled away. She smiled, a smile of complete bliss and looked up. "Thank you." she whispered. Then she was gone. Dom, looked up, dumfounded. "Kate?" he asked. A dove flew out of a cherry tree nearby up into the sky, till he could no longer see it. It was then Dom realized what had happened. He sat and leaned back against the flowers. A tear ran down his cheek and he vowed never to love anyone, ever, ever, again.
