Hi guys, have been away for a while. You know how it is, life stuff gets in the way. Anyway hope you like the story.

'For the love of Merlin, get those things away from me!' Severus had jumped so violently he'd bashed his head on the headboard.

'Oh, I'm sorry! I thought you'd be used to them by now.'

'I don't believe I'll ever get used the the ice blocks that are your feet!'

Hermione giggled as she planted a very sensual kiss on his lips. 'With you as my hot water bottle I'm always warmed up in no time.'

'Yes well, whilst we are still coherent - you still haven't told me what you desire for your birthday.'

'Surprise me.'

'Oh, that would be a risky decision. I don't fancy being thrown out of the marriage bed.'

She propped herself up on her elbow for a better view of his face. 'Having you to myself for the day would be enough, so I will appreciate any gift you decide to bestow on me.'

SEVERAL DAYS LATER...

Hermione awoke to an empty space beside her. She was just about to get up to investigate when the object of her affections entered the room with a rather large breakfast tray, loaded high with eggs, bacon, muffins, fruit, croissants and tea. 'I guess we won't be leaving the bedroom for a while then?'

'If that is what you wish, my love.' he said pecking her on the lips.

'Absolutely, my darling.'

Hermione had just polished off her third helping when Severus unveiled her birthday present. 'Happy Birthday love - I think this is something we can both enjoy.'

She took the gift from his hands and started to excitedly unwrap it. It was squishy, perhaps he'd indulged her in some pretty lingerie? As she tore off the last of the paper, into her lap fell a pair of fluffy pink...bedsocks! She stared at them in slight disgust for some very long seconds and upon noticing the smirk on her "darlings" face proceeded to beat him senseless with her pillow.

It was a good job he had the back up present of a weekend in Paris - wasn't it?
