This is just a little oneshot that I wanted to give a try. In this. Inuyasha is about 15 and his father is alive. Inuyasha wishes to test his father. To see if Inutaisho actually cares for his son. Let me know what you think. Warning though; it'll be pretty short.

~Just Wanted to Know~

Inuyasha was restless. He was getting quite tired and bored. Although that made him think about something. Or rather someone; his father. His father never seemed to show Inuyasha any kind of love. Not even a 'That's my boy'. Of course as a Taiyoukai, Inuyasha understood. His father couldn't be soft like that. Even if he wanted to. Although Inuyasha doubted he wanted to anyway.

' Man, why the heck am I thinking crap like that anyway?' The young half-demon thought.

"Inuyasha! You better get your a** in here now!" Came Inutaisho's booming voice. There was ONE thing Inuyasha got from his father that most teenagers did; that was being reprimanded. Like all the time. As a matter of fact, most of the conversations he had with his father weren't conversations at all. They were of Inuyasha getting chewed out by his old man.

'Oh well. Guess, I'd best get this over with.', Inuyasha thought dreadfully.

'Yeah, what's up old man?"

"Don't you DARE 'what's up old man me' boy!", Inutaisho turned a sharp glare at his pup," I told you to clean your room. Did I not? I don't ask for much, but I did not know such a little task was too much for you to handle."

"...Whatever."

"I don't want to hear that word out of your mouth either. Seriously, what's up with teenagers today? It seems the only words you know are 'whatever and what's up'. Maybe I'll get you a dictionary for your birthday."

"Like you keep up with teenagers...let alone me.", Inuyasha muttered.

"What was that boy? Speak up."

"Nevermind FATHER", Inuyasha spat," It's not important. Besides don't you have some lands to patrol or something?"

"No. I have a son who is in need of some punishment and who WILL be getting it if he does not shape this new found attutude of his! As a matter of fact maybe it would do some good to-"

"Do you like me?" Inuyasha had to say it.

"Huh?" For once the young prince had caught his father by surprise.

"Do. You. Like. Me?"

Inutaisho massaged his temple as if he had a headache," No Inuyasha. I do not like you..."

Half-demon ears droop.

"...I love you."

Half-demon ears perk up.

"Now, any more dumb questions pup?"

"No. That's it. " Inuyasha hugged his father and caught him off guard again. Inutaisho hugged back.
