With a shopping bag in my hand I stared impatiently at the line waiting my turn at the shoe store. In front of me was a little boy about seven years old, pacing around anxiously with a box in his hands. He was in a red shirt and pants I noticed that they were dirty and to big for him. His black hair unkempt and down passed his shoulders.

When the boy finally got to the cash register he said something that made my heart cry out to him.

"Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please. It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size"

I smiled at this sadly, for from this boys looks he didn't have much money. The casher looked down at then boy smiled and said " Oh how sweet. Such a kind little boy." Then boy shifted nervously and then looked up at the man and asked

"Could you hurry Sir? Daddy says there's not much time. You see, she's been sick for quite a while. And I know these shoes will make her smile. I want her to look beautiful,if Momma meets Jesus, tonight."

Oh God don't take this little boys mom away from him. I thought miserably as I watched the boy count pennies one by one on the countertop. When he was finally done the casher looked at the small pile of pennies and tha counter top and frowned

"Son there's not enough here. I'm sorry." The black haired boy looked though his pockets franticly in search for more money. Looking up to me he said sadly "Momma always made Christmas special at our house, she didn't even want anything in return. Tell me sir do you know how I could get the money? I just got to get the shoes for her."

So I took out my wallet and paid the rest for the shoes.

The look that he gave me I will never forget in all of my life. Running to the door he turned around and said this

"Thank you. Momma's going to look so great." then he disappeared into the cold Christmas eve night.

Paying for my thing I thought I have caught a glimpse of heavens love and I thanked the lord for showing me what Christmas was all about.

"Papa!" little voice rang out from behind the Christmas tree "Thank you!" Five year old Kagome ran out from behind holding a Barbie doll in her arms. I smiled down at my daughter and then remembered the small boy at the shoe shop. Looking over at the newspaper I left Kagome to roam the tree for more of her gifts. Flipping through the paper I saw a small tile on the last page
