Set after 'Hairography'
Rachel
I couldn't help but stare at Finn and Quinn, who sat only a few seats from me. They looked very much in love, and were totally oblivious to the fact that I was waching them. They still somehow managed to look uncomfortable, at least in my mind. But that was probably just wishful thinking from me.
"Okay kids, this week's assignment is finding a song that expresses exactly how you feel right now." said.
Well, that's easy, I Thought. There was only one song that expressed that. Okay, there was tons of them, but I was sure I wanted to sing that one song.
I was actually really nervous when I walked into the choir-room the next day. I was about to sing about Finn, in front of the others, including his girlfriend.
"Who's ready to sing their song?" asked.
I raised my hand, which of course caused my glee-friends to roll their eyes.
"Okay, Rachel take it away,"
I got up from my seat and started the song, trying not to look at anyone in particular.
Hands touch, eyes meet Don't dream too far Ev'ry so often we long to steal Blithe smile, lithe limb Don't wish, don't start
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl
The glee-club stared at me, kind of mesmorized. It was a little awkward.
"Wow, Rahcel. That was really good," said. "Okay, who's next?"
I sat down at my chair as Tina got up to perform her song. Then I met Finn's eyes for a moment before looking away, concentrating on Tina's performance.
Finn countinued to wach me the rest of the class, but I didn't meet his eyes's again. Quinn was pregnant, he wouldn't leave her. There was just no point in wishing anymore...
This story was short, I know. I just really wanted to post something, and Rachel totally should have done this song 'round the time for this episode. And I'm sorry my english isn't that great, I'm working on it:)
