Just felt like writing a short one shot between Fred and Lizzy. Enjoy.

So much had happened in Lizzy's life in the past 20 so years. She learned right from wrong, overcame her mother, her biggest fears, her cheating ex-husband Charles, met the most wonderful man on earth, Mickey.. And made a friend. But lost him just too quickly for her liking.

Fred. Drop dead Fred. Possibly the only one person that ever saw Lizzy for who she really was. He loved her all the time, just never showed it really. He was the most real, make-believe friend someone could ever have.. And no one could see him. But her. He helped her get over her fear of her mother, he was the one who helped when everyone else was caught up in their own business. He helped her see past Charles. Now, Charles got what he deserved.. Lizzy left him, Annabella left him.. He's probably got someone else now, but that doesn't matter. He doesn't have Lizzy.

She wished she could've told Fred something before he left that one fateful night. The night they kissed and she whispered, "Drop.. Dead.. Fred." And he vanished right from her very grasp. After he was gone, the place where she was hugging was cold. It should have been filled with the warmth from him. She missed him a lot. Even to this day she thinks about him, thinks about what she wanted to tell him but never got the chance.

Mickey. Mickey was amazing in every way. He loved her ever since they were little and continued to love her to this day. The two lived together now in a little house in a small suburban neighborhood. It was quiet, peaceful, and quaint. Sometimes Lizzy wished that Fred was back to spice things up and make her life full of crazy again.

Today, she thought about a lot of things while sitting on the sofa in front of the fire. She thought of memories, the happiness of it all, the sadness, the excitement, and even the anger. She kept telling herself to let Fred go, let him be a memory too.. Even though he already was. She let a small tear fall from her eye into her lap. As that single tear grew colder, moving through the air downwards it shined like a diamond. It shined like her friend, Fred did.

Just then, out of all the silence, she heard the sound of the mail slot being opened and some mail falling in. She wiped her eyes and got up to go get it. All it was, was one letter. Lizzy knelt down and picked it up. It wasn't addressed to anyone..

She furrowed her brows and opened it gently. The paper it was written on was crumpled up a bit and the handwriting was terrible. It read:

Hey. I've missed you a lot, It's been a long time since we've seen each other.. And I don't think we'll see each other again but I felt the need to write this to you. I mean, you wrote one to me years ago, and I never returned the favor. I just wanted to tell you something I forgot to say before I left that night years back.. I wanted to say that. I love you, Lizzy. I always have. Even though you can't see me anymore, I'm still here. I always will be. I watch over you on occasion.. And even if you don't notice it. I help you through some tough spots in life. I think I should be going now. I just wanted to tell you that I love you, snotface. Always.

P.S, Tell Mickey I think he's alright afterall.. But he's still a girl.

Love,

Drop Dead Fred.

She noticed that right smack dab in the middle of the page, a small droplet of water was seen.. It was a tear, but not one of Lizzy's.. As soon as she read the last line of that letter.. One of her own tears fell right next to his and she whispered softly, but with a smile. "I love you too, Drop dead Fred…"
