Hey there readers! It's time to begin the next chapter of the Legacy of Jarik Shan! This takes during the time period of the Galactic Empire! And it includes HTTYD, as well as moments from Star Wars Rebels, the OT, and some of the CANON novels.

Before reading this story, I highly suggest reading the 'Legacy of Jarik Shan V2: The Clone Wars' and 'Legacy of Jarik Shan V3: Revenge of the Sith' if you haven't already. If you don't read that then you most likely won't understand a few things in this story. The prequel to those stories is 'V1: Beginnings,' which I'm finishing up slower than the other stories. If you wish to you can check it out! :D

I hope you guys enjoy this chapter in Jarik's story! I've been planning this OC character for a very long time, and his story extends all the way after the Sequel Trilogy itself! By the way this is all mostly from Jarik's POV and the canon is mostly based off of Disney canon but with my own added elements from the Old Republic and other history.

(P.S. this story includes other franchises in it, which consist of How to Train Your Dragon, and a small amount of Destiny in later chapters. But it is predominantly Star Wars!)

THE STORY SO FAR...

Jarik Shan became the Padawan to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the year 21 BBY. His first mission with his master is the Second Battle of Geonosis, where they recapture the desert planet and destroy its droid factories. Jarik and Ahsoka grow closer to each other over the bond during their campaigns in the Clone War, and earn quite a reputation for themselves. Jarik is given the name of "The Slicer" while Ahsoka is given the title of "Fierce Commander.

After a year has passed, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Jarik are called by the Ones to the planet Mortis, where Jarik encounters Darth Revan for the first time during the incident. He receives a warning vision from Bastila Shan, although at the time he does not yet realize his family heritage, the name of Shan being lost after Darth Bane killed all those who held the name, except for one who escaped his carnage. Ahsoka dies, and Jarik is broken and devastated until the Daughter uses her remaining power to bring her back to life. The Force bond between Ahsoka and Jarik is renewed, and they grow ever closer, being tied to each other with the pure essence of the Light Side.

The Clone Wars wage on, with Jarik faces many challenges and hardships in the war. Those tough times include the false death of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the betrayal of Pong Krell, and the revelation that his parents were killed by the Sith Lord Darth Maul when he was only a baby. As he continues to train under Obi-Wan, Jarik's power and perceptiveness in the Force only grows stronger, and he receives visions of powerful wielders of the Dark Side, including one such vision of an entity named Snoke while chaperoning younglings during the Gathering. He also uncovers the first real evidence of the Sith Lord who is the Master of Count Dooku, bringing this knowledge to the Jedi Council.

When Ahsoka is framed and accused of the bombing of the Jedi Temple in 19 BBY, Jarik is enraged, and struck with conflicting emotions during the entire incident. When the moment came that Ahsoka chose not to rejoin the Jedi, the two confessed their love for each other, and Ahsoka promised Jarik to remain with the Jedi and fight for what's right.

After the crisis in which Ahsoka left the Order, Master Yoda and Jarik embark on missions given to them by the will of the Force, with Yoda training in how to manifest a consciousness after death. There he learns about Jarik Shan's ancestry, and discovers that the Shan family was nearly wiped out by the ancient Sith Lord Darth Bane. Jarik on the other hand, travels to Lothal and enters the World Between Worlds, hearing voices of the past, present and future, and discovering his true heritage from the spirits of Satele Shan, Bastila Shan, and Revan. He is then tempted by the entity known only as Snoke, although it is revealed that his Force bond with Ahsoka leaves him immune to such temptation from the Dark. After returning from his mission, Jarik Shan and Master Yoda speak with each other, and agree to discuss what they learned later in private.

Soon after, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Jarik were involved in a mission to rescue the Chancellor from the Separatists. During the rescue, Anakin killed Count Dooku at the Chancellor's order, however Jarik was appalled by such an act. Once freeing Palpatine, the four of them made their escape, encountering Grievous and destroying the Invisible Hand along the way.

After rescuing the Chancellor, Jarik and Master Yoda had a conversation with each other, discussing what they both witnessed during their Force-called journey's, learning from each other. Jarik then continues his attempts to solve the mystery behind the death of Fives and the Clone Army, but eventually has to stop once he is unable to do anymore with so many files blocked by the Chancellor's Office. Satele Shan then appears to him during his meditation, and teaches him about the faults of the Jedi, and the history of the Sith. Meanwhile, Palpatine continues to seduce Anakin closer to the dark side, placing the seeds of doubt within him..

When Obi-Wan leaves for Utapau to defeat General Grievous, Anakin realizes that Palpatine is Darth Sidious, and informs the Council members, who go to confront him. He also tells Jarik, but then rushes to the Chancellor's office, conflicted while Jarik attempts to break through the Office video. Doing so, he realizes that Sidious defeated the Council members, and then the clones attack the Jedi Temple. He rally's other Jedi to fight, but many are killed, and he is forced to flee the Temple with Boil, Petro, Katooni and R5, but not before Anakin kills Petro, much to Jarik's horror.

Meeting up with Senator Organa, Master Yoda and Obi-Wan, they discuss their plan to shut down the trap laid by the clones at the Temple, and after successfully doing so, Obi-Wan and Yoda realize that Anakin has now become Darth Vader. After this, Obi-Wan and Jarik track down Padme, who leads them to Anakin without knowing it, while Yoda goes to confront Sidious. On Mustafar, Anakin duels Obi-Wan, while Jarik duels Barriss, who was dominated to the dark side by Darth Sidious. After a fierce battle, Jarik manages to free Barriss from the dark side, however she sacrifices herself to save him moments later. Anakin is burned by the lava after Obi-Wan slices his legs off, and the two depart the lava planet, headed to Polis Massa with an unconscious Padme.

There, Padme gives birth to her children, Luke and Leia before dying. The four discuss how to proceed, with Bail adopting Leia, and Luke heading to Tatooine where Obi-Wan will watch over him. Katooni no longer wishes to be a Jedi, choosing to live quietly on Alderaan, and Boil goes to search for his remaining brothers. Yoda and Obi-Wan then grant Jarik the rank of Jedi Knight, before the two depart to Tatooine. Once Luke is given to the Lars family, Obi-Wan and Jarik share one final goodbye before the Jedi Knight leaves, searching the galaxy for Ahsoka...
