Missing.
Wally aimlessly flipped through TV channels in his small, one bedroom apartment, located on the East side if Central City. It was small, but cozy and comforting, welcoming and great to come home to after a long mission. Every day was tiring and coming home to his apartment really made days bearable.
He yawned widely, his stomach grumbling with hunger. He shrugged it off and settled on the news, he'd get something to eat once his laziness ebbed away. His emerald eyes focused carefully on the screen, the familiar face of his aunt popping up on the screen. She was the anchor? Damn.
"Good Evening, this is Iris Allen reporting from the studio, we have breaking news from Bette Richford in Gotham City. Hello Bette." The screen immediately switching to a camera on the streets, a pretty blonde haired woman replacing his aunt's face.
She nodded at Iris and smiled grimly. "This is Bette Richford, reporting live in Gotham at these run-down apartments, a grimmer part of Gotham indeed," She glanced at the yellow police tape surrounding the entrance of the apartment buildings. They looks so…familiar.
Wally scratched his mass of red curls and sighed. Where did he remember those apartments. He shrugged and turned up the volume, his attention snagged.
"Gotham City police are investigating the disappearance of a young woman here in this very apartment, detectives are on the scene, looking for clues or evidence to her captor or to her location. The police have a realized a name and a picture of the young woman, if you have seen her or know her, police are looking for an clues or information they can get." Bette nodded at the camera, the TV switching back to Iris.
Iris nodded grimly and a picture covered the screen of a young woman, her back resting against a brick wall, a small smile on her face, her gray eyes shining with happiness. She was clad in a black leather short jacket, a white t-shirt clinging to her lithe frame, some casual black jeans and boots finishing off the outfit. The background scene was peaceful, content.
Wally's heart stopped as he watched the screen, he noticed when his aunt got back into few she her jaw was hanging low, tears brimming in her eyes. "Artemis…" He heard her faint murmur.
No! He fell to the floor on his knees, eyes widened with surprise and shock. Artemis was missing. Artemis was gone. He hadn't seen or heard from her in what? Four years? Or was it five, and now she was missing.
He never had gotten over the blonde…, and now she was gone, leaving him to help solve the mystery.
TBC…
