AN: Warning: This story may contain fluff. Act accordingly based on your beliefs. May be taken as slight slash but was written as mostly friendship.

I DO NOT own any of the characters used. They belong to WWE and their associates. I just came up with this [very] short story idea.

Enjoy!

The cabin of the plane was dark, save for the few overhead lights belonging to the people still up. Two of these people sat side by side. One the definition of silence as he read one of his favorite novels, the other seemly not able to keep still. Of course it was to be expected that an interesting conversation was soon to follow.

Heath Slater yawned, turning towards the statue of a man.

"I'm soooo tired!" he complained, as if by saying so his situation might actually change.

"Then go to sleep Slater." Wade Barrett replied from his seat beside the other man, not taking his eyes off of the book he was reading. Over the past few hours he had noticed a slight change in the man beside him, particularly his sudden need to talk to him about things he cared the least about. He was slightly surprised that the other wrestler had struck up a conversation with him, as they hadn't said more the a few words to each other outside of the show since the younger man had joined up with those imbeciles known as his so called 'Band Mates'.

"I caaaaaaaaan't..." Heath murmured, his voice taking on a slight whining tone once again drawing Wade out of his thoughts.

The Brit decided to humor the other man. "And why is that?"

"Someone might try and take advantage of meeee."

Wade raised an eyebrow, finally letting his eyes slide away from the page and towards the younger man. Heath was pouting slightly and Wade couldn't help but make the comparison between him and a puppy.

"You actually think... that someone would try and take advantage of you... while you slept on a plane?" he spoke slowly, trying to make sense of the strange statement.

"Mmmhmmm!" Heath replied, nodding weakly. "T'comes wuth looking as damnngood as I do! I wouldav thought you'd understaaand."

Wade let out an amused chuckle. "Is that so? Well fret no more! Ol' Wadey here will protect ya from the likes of em!" he patted Heath on the shoulder in a comforting gesture.

"Really? You'd dothaat forrmee?" Heath looked as if he had been told he was getting the World Heavy Weight title. His grin was so bright it could light a stadium. "Thaaaaaanks!"

Wade's eyes widened in surprise as the other man wrapped his arm around him, cuddling into his chest. His first instinct was to push him off, but he hesitated, seeing the peaceful smile on the other man's face. It was a rare thing to see these days when it came to this guy. Even his so called friends had trouble getting him to relax, so even though Wade wasn't completely comfortable with the arrangement, he couldn't bring himself to pull away. Instead he smiled.

"Don't mention it." he murmured. "Like you said, I know what you're going through." He waited for a response, but didn't receive one. Looking down he saw the ginger was fast asleep, something he looked like he hadn't been in a long time. Wade shook his head before placing his book aside, making sure not to disturb the sleeping man, and turned off the overhead light.

"Sleep easy." he whispered, his voice as sweet as honey but holding an ever present tone of superiority. "No one will hurt you on my watch."
