Thomas loved all seasons, whether it be spring or summer or fall or winter. But of course, like everyone else, he had a favorite season. And his favorite season was winter.
He loved winter, because it was a time that everyone had fun. Snowmen were built with the snow that fell around the city and snow angels were carved into the glistening white on the ground. Children played around, dressed heavily in their winter jackets, and adults enjoyed the beautiful mornings either relaxing or playing along with their children.
Thomas had gotten up early, and he dressed in his warmest clothes before going outside. He marveled at the beautiful sight, of the sparkling untouched snow.
"Thomas, love," Thomas jumped, gasping when he heard the familiar voice and he turned around. He saw his lover, John Smith, leaning against the door, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face, "what are you doing out here so early?"
"Oh, good morning, John!" He smiled, and John pushed off the door before walking towards him. The older man wrapped his arms around Thomas and leaned down to kiss him. "I'm just enjoying the fresh air is all," he added, in answer to John's question.
John smiled and kissed him again before looking up and he sighed. "It is a rather beautiful morning, isn't it?" He whispered and Thomas nodded, grinning. "Not at all like what the sea can offer, with the snow untouched and sparkling like a thousand diamonds." Thomas looked up at John with awe, his own eyes sparkling.
"Wow..." he blushed when John smirked down at him.
"Well, it's not untrue, is it?" Thomas shook his head and hugged him. They stayed there for a few minutes before John spoke again, "Come on then, we best get inside before you catch a cold." Thomas nodded and smiled again, leaning up and kissing John one last time before they headed inside.
