The Epic Discovery

After searching through the old files back at the original lab, it was discovered that there was a second island used to experiment with different types of dinosaurs. This island was located in the center of the Pacific Ocean and included many different species not originally included on the first island. A group of researchers decided that a trip to this island, now named the Cretassic Island, would be a useful endeavor.

Upon their arrival while the rest of the researchers set up camp, one scientist who was new to the team named Joseph Captor decided to go out and gather primary information. After following a series of foot prints, he discovered that the leaves on the island had also begun to change from their initial shape. The new leaves resembled a half-right parenthesis, a line, and then a half-left parenthesis. *)|(* He decided that the leaf shape was negligible and continued on.

Once Joseph had traveled even further, he heard a crunch underneath his foot. This intrigued him and he decided to investigate. After a few minutes of unearthing, he unveiled what appeared an Atari game cartridge. Furthermore, he used his skills in process of elimination and what was left from the logo to determine the game was, indeed, Pong.

Joseph Captor continued to follow the tracks which led him to what appeared to be a clearing. There, he saw two different species of dinosaurs: a graft between a tyrannosaurus and a raptor and another splice between a pterodactyl and an Archaeopteryx. The two dinosaurs appeared to be engaged in some sort of near ritualistic battle as there was wailing and growls emitted from both. The subject called for further research, so Joseph decided to stay and observe. After more observations of the optical variety, Captor swore that they were in fact looking at a television screen. Connected to said television was a system very similar to the one Joseph found earlier. Even further connected to Atari-esque system were two paddle-like controllers used by both of the sauri.

The first dinosaur swung the paddle so as to cause the white bar on it's side of the screen to move, receive, and return the small pixellated ball to the other side. The winged prehistoric creature reacted by moving its paddle controller down so as to perform a similar action. This exchange continued until the veloci-rex began to grow weary. It barely had enough energy to move its paddle in any direction as its arm muscles were relatively underdeveloped. The pteryx-modeled creature used this opportunity to deliver the finishing swing and delivered its paddle in such a way the the pixelled bar on the screen returned the ball with such ferocity that the score became ever so apparent. The winged reptile had won.

And, as for its prize, it claimed its next meal in its opponent. Never had Joseph Captor experienced such a strife and decided to turn back to the camp before things got out of hand. However, when he arrived, nothing was left except a paddle used by the grafted dinosaurs.
