"Stupid freezer." Suzuka growled. "Why won't the temperature go any lower?" He glared at the dismantled appliance in a way that would have struck fear into the freezer's heart, had it been, well, alive.
"Watcha doin'?" Jin asked, hovering upside down so that his sweat ran into his hair and dripped off the point of his horn.
"Trying to make instant ice cubes. What are you doing?" Suzuka regarded Jin warily. Jin grinned.
"I'm distracting myself from the heat!"
"Uh-huh. Have fun with that." Suzuka returned to his original task. Jin crossed one arm over his chest, put his other hand to his chin and frowned as if he were deep in thought, still feet up. His eyes widened and his expression brightened.
"I have an idea! Wanna see? Wanna see?" He was bobbing up and down like one of Rinku's yo-yos.
"Sure." Suzuka watched suspiciously as Jin cobbled together… something using duct tape as his adhesive. It had an ice cube tray on top, with a rectangular pad taped to the bottom. "Jin, that's a heat pack. How will that freeze anything?"
"Follow me!" Jin floated into the living room, now right-side up so that the water didn't spill.

Touya was reading a book on the couch. He noticed when Jin and Suzuka came up behind him, but didn't particularly care.
Jin stifled his giggling. He flicked the 'On' switch on the heating pad and waited five seconds. Then he put it on Touya's shoulder. The water, and most of Jin's forearms, froze almost instantly. Touya turned the page in his book. Jin turned to face Suzuka, smiling triumphantly. "Ta-daa!"
Well, he did manage to get the ice cubes frozen. Suzuka watched as Jin set the ice cube tray/heating pad thing on the table, and then smashed his arms against the edge. Most of the ice shattered and fell off.

After two weeks of being used as an automatic freezer for everything from ice cubes to leftovers, Touya had had more than enough. So the next time Rinku put a bag of carrots against the back of his neck, Touya froze Rinku. Not the carrots, just Rinku. Touya continued reading, ignoring Rinku's muffled pleas.
"Rinku! What's taking you so long?" Suzuka yelled. When he didn't get a reply, he came to make sure Rinku hadn't gotten himself killed. Suzuka sighed and took the carrots from Rinku's still-outstretched hands. Guess I'll have to freeze them the old fashioned way, he thought, as he put them in the re-assembled freezer.
"Mmmph!" Rinku said indignantly.

"Ave ya thawed Rinku yet?" Jin asked, floating on his stomach in front of Touya.
"No." Touya looked up from his ever-present book to meet Jin's eyes. "Why?"
"Well…" Jin did a little flip in the air. "He wouldna done that, if I hadn't given him the idea."
"You feel guilty."
"I did, a little." He returned to his original position. "But I'm over it now!" He smiled cheerfully, as usual. Touya smiled back. Slightly.
Jin smacked a kiss against Touya's curved lips. Touya blushed.
"You know, if you wanted ice cubes, you could have just asked."
