Many things haunt him. Behind his ever-present grin and empty eyes, behind his easygoing mannerisms and laugh, he is haunted. The memories of his years of happiness, pain of his time of solitude, and his promise, which he intends to keep for his nakama, follows him. How many times had he awakened from a joyous dream to see it vanish before his eyes? How many times had his hopes risen so high and then come crashing down to the silent deck of his empty boat? How many times had he played the recording of his nakama, and for that brief moment, want to live, to hope? Now, as the last of his crew who could make a crying child laugh, he is so happy to be alive. While he is loathe to prolong the sorrow of being apart from the one remaining Rumbar Pirate, he is not lonely. Even while he is haunted, he is happy. His new nakama bring him such joy, but he still cannot forget his promise.
"Laboon, surely you can wait another year or two." He whispers, and lifts his violin to his shoulder to play another haunting tune for his nakama.
