It was a quiet, peaceful day. Korra was enjoying a walk along the shore, breathing in the cool, fresh air. The act of watching the waves flow back and forth was quite pacifying. Occasionally they would wash up a bit of seaweed, or a little shell. Unusually, Korra saw a wave push something different onto the shore, something bright and yellow. Curious, she approached, and saw that it was a small creature she hadn't seen before. Korra picked it up- it was a sponge, wearing a pair of pants.
Korra chuckled to herself. "Why would a sponge be wearing pants?" she asked.
"I don't tell you how to live your life," said the sponge, in a soft, squeaky voice. Korra nearly dropped the creature and yelped in surprise.
"You can talk!" she said.
The sponge sat up in her hand, and rubbed his head. "Ugh... where am I?" he asked. Apparently, he'd hit his head on something during whatever journey he'd had.
"Republic City," said Korra. "My name's Korra. What's your name? And where did you come from?"
"Spongebob," said the critter. "I came from a city called Bikini Bottom, under the Marshall Islands. In the Pacific Ocean?" He looked worried. "Oh, how will I ever get home?!" He flopped over in Korra's hand despondently, wheezing slightly. He was starting to dry out.
Korra quickly cast a shower of water over him. "Relax, little guy," she said. "I can keep you in a glass bowl in my room while I find some maps. We'll get you home somehow."
"Thank you, Korra," said Spongebob, as Korra began to walk home. "So... how did you do that thing with the water?"
"Oh... I'm a waterbender," said Korra. "I can control the water around me, with, uh... magic."
"Can you teach me?!" Spongebob asked eagerly. Korra chuckled.
"I can try," she said.
"And then I can give you a makeover!" said Spongebob with a giggle, happily clapping his hands together.
"Well, that sounds... interesting," said Korra.
