I sighed in frustration as I saw the scene before me. They were together at the park. Simon and Clary were having a good time, taking a nice walk. Then Clary got a text from her boyfriend. Apologizing to Simon, Clary ran off to fulfill whatever needs Jace had. Simon took his time making his way to a park bench to sit. He placed his head in his hands.

Once again, I sighed in frustration. Clary just couldn't see it. Simon would do anything for her. Anything! And what does she give in return? Nothing. Clary couldn't see that the one place Simon only ever wanted to be was by her side. He would give anything; his life, the life of his friends and family, he would give up his everything, if just to satisfy her. He practically already has. He can't be with his family anymore because of her, because of being with her. His wanting to be near her has cost him the rest of his future as a normal human being. He's risked his life just for her, numerous times. And at the end of each time, without even bothering to thank him, she runs off to Jace.

Every time.

I wonder if Simon ever thinks of what would happen if they had never seen Jace in that club. If he thinks up of all of the great possibilities that could have been. If there had been no Jace, he could have told Clary how much he cared for her. There would have been no competition. They would have been together since then, and still. Of course they would. They've been best friends since both of them can remember. And he would be normal again. Not stuck forever at this age. I really wonder if he thinks to himself when he's alone, "If only…."

I wouldn't blame him.

For these reasons, I really hate Clary. She just is so blind to the problems she's caused to her dearest friend, the friend that she's know the longest. She's so stupid to not see what was right in front of her! Instead, once she found Jace, she turned her back onto what was standing before her eyes.

And Simon is an idiot, too. For letting her use him in this crude, painful way. But, I guess that it really isn't his fault that he can't let go of her. It isn't his fault that she's the only one he wants, and most likely will ever want. It's not his fault that Clary can't see.

But I can see. So I will try my best to convince him to let me give him what he deserves. To show him how to move on. Clary has. So why can't he give it a shot?

"I can see, Simon." I whisper into the air around me. "I promise you, I can."

Gathering my resolve, I step forward out of the darkness towards the park bench. After I get a few meters away, I know he can hear me coming. He looks up and smiles at me.

"Hi Simon! Can I sit here?" I grin at him, holding my hands behind my back. He looks mildly surprised, but replies quickly.

"Sure, Izzy. Have a seat."
