Hogwarts, the greatest magical school in Europe. That's right I said magical. Entire societies hidden from the mundane world or as the magicals call them, the muggle world. Like all societies, and groups it's had ups and downs. It's an up that we begin our tale.
Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived. Now to all you muggles out there let's give a little history lesson. In the 1970s, there was a man, though some wouldn't call him one, named Tom Riddle. He was a wizard, one of exceptional power and intelligence. This magic world does not know him as Tom though; they know him as the Dark Lord Voldemort. Sadly these witches and wizards do not have the courage to say that name; they call him You-Know-Who or he-who-must-not-be-named. Now Tom was very charismatic, and gathered followers to his cause. The cause was to cleanse this world of all those impure. You see every now and then a magical child is born to muggles. Riddle wanted to create mass genocide of these and all non-magicals. Now let's skip a couple years to Godric's Hollow, a little village in Wales, to the home of James and Lily Potter. Its Halloween 1981, James and Lily had a son, Harry; you see where this is going don't you? They had been betrayed by one of their closest friends, they just didn't know it yet.
The front door burst open to reveal the black cloaked Voldemort. James told Lily to take Harry and go, James would hold him back, but he had forgot his wand, the foci for his magical energy, he was the first to fall. As her husband died protecting her, Lily had ran to the nursery with her 15monthold son. Sadly Lily fell to, leaving only Harry and Voldemort. The Dark Lord turned his wand on the toddler and uttered the words that have ended so many lives:
"Avada Kedavra"
A green shot from the bone white wand. It hit young harry on the forehead, but by some miracle, the death curse was reflected back at the being that would known as the evilest dark lord in history. Voldemort's body was destroyed and the only thing wrong with Harry was a scar upon where the curse hit. A scar in the shape of a bolt of lightning.
