20 Years At Sea; Day Six - Laughs

"Jus' laff! When ya have a hard time, jus' laff!"

Robin didn't really know what to think, to laugh even when sad.

She didn't know what to think, about laughing with tears.

It was on a path, the only without ice, that she wiped her arm over her eyes, tears pooling. Memories of Saul, of the Oharan archaeologists, of her mother.

"Dereshishishi..." Her lips wobbled, and she found difficulty in smiling.

"Dereshi! Dereshi! Dereshi-" she coughed, halfway through, when her mouth was reluctantly pulled into a wavering grin. She sobbed, her head of dark hair resting on the wood of the small boat, as she continued the special laughter that Saul had taught her.

And, when she cried, all she could think about were Saul's words.

She wished she could cry.

"Jus' laff! When ya have a hard time, jus' laff!"
