Bio Glass had a sick sense of humour. It was no secret. But when she stood in front of the class and announced that a field trip was on the day's agenda, the pandemonium that ensued had wiped everyone clean of their senses. No one questioned the sudden act of kindness, just bounced on their stools and flapped their hands happily.

When they got outside, nothing but an empty field awaited them

Her laughter had been maniacal. Not even allowing them to change, she had cracked the whip, a real physical non-metaphorical one, and then began making them run laps.

"I really don't think she's allowed to do this." Brooke grumbled, jogging between Sam and Carmen.

"I think she wants us to work off some of our excess fat so there's more meat for her when she finally decides to spit-roast us." Carmen's eyes widened.

"She wouldn't, would she?" Panic edged her voice an octave higher.

"I wouldn't put it pa-crap!" Sam felt her foot get stuck and was helpless against gravity as it yanked her down. Her body went still.

Her left eye cracked open and she saw Carmen running backwards, somehow managing to mouth an 'I'm sorry' between fits of laughter. Then crisp white sneakers came into view.

"Wow, you just brought a whole new meaning to the term 'field trip'." A growl left Sam's throat and Brooke giggled as the brunette lifted her head to stare up at her.

"Just shut up and give me a hand."
