Castiel has come to an understanding of sorts when it comes to comprehending Dean. It's not complete by any means, he's fairly sure that at times Dean just does things with the sole purpose of leaving him confused, but this he thinks he does understand.

He understands that Dean is afraid of being alone, frightened by who or what he may become, when he focuses on nothing but the hunt. Castiel knows that Dean is a good man who cannot be judged by his actions in Hell alone.

Castiel understands that there is much in life that Dean cannot put words to. It doesn't stop his actions though. Castiel knows without question that each time Dean reaches for him, he is offering himself, every atom that he is, each time he looks into Castiel's eyes he is offering a glimpse into his soul.

Dean has offered everything that he is, body and soul, intention and action to prove his love for Castiel.
