If I Knew

If I knew it'd be the last time. I'd try a little harder.

Eddie tossed and turned in his bed that night. He knew deep down something was wrong, something was up. That she wasn't herself. He knew something was off when she came racing into play rehearsal crying. He should've known, it wasn't normal. At the time however he played it off as full fear. That the sheer terror she had to have been feeling just got to her.

"It's okay take your time. What happened," he asked

"It- it was KT," she stuttered out still in tears.

"Where is she now," Fabian wondered.

"I don't know. She- she- she dragged me to the gatehouse."

"Hey you're safe now. You're with me. Just take it slow," he whispered wrapping an arm around her.

"She said he great grandpa was waiting for me. I didn't know what to do. I was so scared, so I just ran."

He knew the truth now. He figured it out when she was in Victor's office. When she spun around to face him, how her eyes glowed red for a few seconds. He just didn't want to believe it. Then things just continued to pile up against her. He just wouldn't let her know he knew. He kept her close, just like always. Even if she was working for team evil.

He would've done anything to have kept her safe, but he had screwed up. He had a pretty good idea of when they had gotten her. When they had taken her for a sinner. It hadn't been his fault, not totally anyways. He could blame himself again and again. He could've stopped her from running off but he hadn't. Maybe it had been the pure shock from what she had said. The last thing, she had said to him well she was still herself. The last words she whispered to him before she was taken as a sinner.

"Hey Yacker! Ben and me are cool now," he called seeing his girlfriend exit the bathroom.

"How could you?"

"Wha- What'd I do," he questioned in pure confusion. He had no clue what he had done now.

"You're a creep!"

"Patricia wait."

"Just leave me alone!"

"I saw the messages!"

"I hate you," she said in barely even a whisper.

The last thing she had said to him, was that she hated him. Then just like that she had been taken as a sinner, and there was nothing he could do to stop it now. Maybe if he hadn't let her run off by herself. Maybe they could've talked about it then. Maybe it wouldn't be too late. It wasn't too late though, that was the thing. He could try to figure out how to save her, how to get her back, anything at all. It wasn't too late to save her.

Woulda held you just a little stronger. If I, I knew it'd be the last time.
