"I love you so much," Jess whispered breathlessly, breaking the kiss.

"Mm, I love you too," Nick murmured into her lips as they connected again.

"Nick, did you hear what you just said?" she asked as they parted briefly.

"You said it first," he said in a rush before he covered her lips with his again, running his hand up to her neck.

"I did not," she said pulling away slightly. His hands came to rest on her hips and she placed her hands over his.

"Yes, you did, Jess."

"Then why didn't I even hear myself say it?"

"I don't know!" He said heatedly, gripping her hips more tightly.

"Well, you said it first," she said, sliding her hands up to his upper arms, her eyes on his lips again.

He tilted his head so that her eyes could meet his. "You don't remember saying it because it's true and you weren't thinking about whether you should say it or not."

She inched her face closer to his. "Okay, fine. Maybe I did say it first!"

"I know!"

"Shut up and kiss me!"

"That's what I'm doing," he said, his voice softer. He placed his hand along the side of her face and pulled her toward him with his fingers curled around the back of her neck.

This kiss was achingly soft and tender, confirming in actions the gravity of what they'd just told each other.

"Ugh, Winston, will you just unlock the door?" Schmidt demanded, still disgusted.

Winston headed towards the door muttering "So weird," but couldn't help but roll his eyes in delighted distaste as he heard them each whisper their words of love to each other again.
