A/n: I had written this story a while ago, actually a couple of weeks after I saw the episode Imprisoned (the episode where they meet Haru and where my story is taking place). After losing it and finding it again it took a couple of months to actually get the courage and post this. No flames please. Hope you like it. :) Read and review.

Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender.

"It's not enough is it?" the brown haired bender known as Haru asked me as we watched the sunset over his small town.

"No," I silently replied as my hand went up to my necklace.

I don't know how long we looked over the small town, but all of a sudden warm salty drops of water hit the ground in front of me. Was I crying? I turned around and started to wipe my tears away before he would notice, but it was too late.

"What's the matter Katara?" He asked, putting his arm around my shoulders. I just couldn't take it anymore my silent tears turned into loud sobs. After mom died it was me that had to take her place. I couldn't have fun with the other children. I had to act calm and mature when something exciting came around and now I just want to scream.

"It's going to be okay, you can tell me anything." He said pulling me into his lap and started to stroke my hair. It was then and there that I told him all the things that I had bottled up since I was a little. My hatred for the fire nation, all the things that I should've done when I saw something evil happen, and unlike my unruly brother, he didn't tell me to 'Stop complaining' he actually stayed and listened. He said comforting words that made me feel useful, not like a water bender that couldn't even water bend that well. Even after I was done talking I continued to cry until I realized something.

"Sorry, you must think I'm acting childish," I said wiping my eyes. I blushed when I realized that I was still on his lap. He pulled me closer and put his chin on top of my head when he saw I was about get off him.

"No" he said in my hair. "Even though our family situations are different…I…I feel…like y-you know, were the same."

He turned my face to where his was and when our lips were a centimeter apart we both froze. We just looked at each other, blushing. I sighed and closed the gap between our lips. It was a simple kiss, couldn't have lasted more than ten seconds, but something about it felt so…fulfilling. It felt like all my problems just melted away. When we separated my face felt like it was on fire, I must've been as red as a tomato. I was so embarrassed, I mean I just met him and I KISSED him. I looked at the sky so I wouldn't have to see his face and saw that the sky was almost fully dark.

"Aang and Sokka must be wondering where I am," I said getting up, still trying to avoid eye contact.

"Yeah, you're right," he said getting up as well. He then put his arms around my waist. I finally decided to look at him and he took the opportunity to steal a kiss, which I responded to rather quickly. When we pulled away I giggled and we started to walk back in awkward but pleasant silence.

A/N: Sorry it's so short. Read and review.
