This is a one shot about Caroline and how she still can't stand Damon and Elena is really starting to get pissed
Elena-
Caroline u want me to be happy right
Caroline-
Of course I do
Elena-
Really? Because last night you didn't care if Damon was dead or alive. If he died… (She hesitates) If he died I don't know what I would do with myself, and I sure as hell wouldn't be happy!
Caroline-
He made u kill Jessie!
Elena-
First, he didn't make me do anything. And second, thanks for listening to me
Elena about to walk out but then stops and turns back around
Elena-
You know u said that u will stop saying crap about Damon if we weren't best friends anymore, well then there you go
Elena turns back to the door
Caroline-
Let me ask you this. Do you really, truly, believe that you and Damon will be together forever?
Elena turns again
Elena-
I don't know Caroline. Maybe.
Caroline-
Because just a few months ago you swore to me that you and Stefan were going to be together for eternity. But look at you two now. Stefan's traumatized by what happened in the lake while your banging his brother
Elena slams the door shut and Caroline falls onto her bed
Elena gets in her car and calls Damon
Damon-
Well good evening beautiful
Elena-
I'm in the car. Be home in an hour
Damon-
What? Why?
Elena-
I can't live with Caroline anymore. She is driving me crazy
Damon-
Still saying crap about me
Elena-
Yep
Damon-
Ah. So what now? You're not going to leave for good are you?
Elena-
No I already talk to the dorm advisor and changed my room. But I only got the essentials from the old dorm for right now so I need you to grab the rest for me tomorrow. I am not in the mood to hear Caroline tell me for the thousandth time that you're an ass.
Damon-
Well granted I am an ass. But I'm an ass that you love and that loves you
Elena smiles
Elena-
Ok I'll be home in an hour. Love you
Damon-
You too bye
The Next Morning:
Damon takes the last box from the dorm but stops right before the door
Damon-
You know she tried talking Jessie off of me before you came. She didn't want to kill him, but she didn't have a choice. It was either him or me
Caroline-
She still should have tried harder
Damon throws the box down, causing Caroline to jump a little.
Damon-
Ok that's it! You know what Caroline, I'm her boyfriend. Of course she was going to save me, because that's who Elena is! She protects the people she loves
Caroline just stares at him and doesn't say anything. He then picks the box up again, but pauses and says
Damon-
That's why we love her. Or at least I still do
Now to Damon and Elena:
Damon walks into Elena's single new dorm. Elena is folding clothes and putting them away
Elena-
Was she still there?
Damon-
Yep. And I tried telling her how you had no choice but to kill her fling of the week but she wouldn't listen
Elena-
Shocker
Damon walks over to Elena and puts his arms around her
Damon-
Hey. Maybe this was for the best you know? Maybe you two just need some time to do things on your own and grow. And then in time, you guys will bury the hatchet
Elena-
Wow. Wise words from Damon Salvatore. Who are you and what have you done with my asshole boyfriend?
Damon-
Shut up
They both laugh then kiss
