Love's Curse

I thought I was strong

I thought I was tough

Yet no one prepared me for unrequited love

You tore my heart out

Deceived me and lied

Made me cry far into the night

And what really hurts

Is that you never knew

Never knew of the love I kept so well hidden

You didn't mean to

Didn't know of my burdens

Otherwise you'd have been there

I was tired of it all

Tired of the hurt

Tired of the jeers in the hall

I guess that's why I did it

I took your picture

And ran into the woods

You found me later

All covered in blood

Your picture beside me in the mud

Then you shed tears on my behalf

While I watched from above

I was gone and you couldn't undo that

You felt responsible and full of regret

Said you had really loved me

And that you'd die to be with me

But just before you plunged the knife into your chest

I stopped you and forgave

For I saw you had really cared

You couldn't see me

Yet you heard the last thing I said

As I danced my way to heaven.

"Live for me...for I loved you and always will..."
