We'll Solve This Together
The ride back home to McDuck Manor was awkward to say the least. For some reason Louie was whining over a dime he had foolishly given up to a soda machine and Scrooge was talking about a mad scientist that works for him. But Dewey didn't care to listen. He was gazing out of the car window with a far off look on his face after discovering an entire room dedicated to his mom. Webby knew he wasn't going to talk about it with the others present but she couldn't help but worry about him.
"Hey...are you OK?" Webby asked him in a soft voice so the others couldn't hear her. They were sitting next to each other in the car so she didn't have to raise her voice too high.
Dewey turned his head away from the window and shook his head. "Not now. Not here with everyone else." He said with a whisper. "We'll talk more when we're in your room back home."
"That's not answering my question Dewey." Webby said sternly but softly, Dewey could tell that she was very concerned about him as she linked their fingers together. "Are you OK?"
Dewey gave her hand a squeeze before answering. "I'm confused and I just want answers but other than that I guess I'm fine."
"We'll get to the bottom of this! We'll solve this together and then we can talk to your brothers about it." Webby said cheerfully.
Oh how Dewey wished he had Webby's optimism on the whole situation but something told him things were going to get even more complicated. As they finally reached McDuck Manor, they quickly exited the Limo and headed up into the mansion to Webby's room. What they didn't realize though was that Scrooge was looking at them as they left with narrowed eyes.
