If you have read Killing Hatter then you would understand what I mean by this is the story of how wonderland began. In the first chapter of Killing Hatter, Alice explains how she got her name from an old story that her mother told her when she was younger. The story was about a child named Alice that fell down a hole and died at the bottom. From the blood and creativity that poured from her head bloomed Wonderland, a place of innocence and purity for dreamers.
Falling, falling, falling. Down and down and down. Above me, the light from the world above was becoming nothing but a white speck far in the distance.
I knew better than to follow that silly rabbit. Rabbit? I looked about me the best that I could; but it was hard because the wind was pulling and pushing my hair, forcing it to whip my face. It also twisted and tangled in front of my eyes, blocking my view.
"Stupid rabbit!" my curse was, however, lost in the roaring of air in my ears.
Wait…. What was that? I moved my hands to round up most of my hair and once more glanced about the black cavern, eyes wide.
There! A white blob hopped outside my vision before disappearing once again.
I swear something was jumping around my vision, dancing, and then speeding away before I could focus my eyes on it. It left wisps of white, gleaming twirls, like smoke, in its wake. I began looking around me, frantic to find what was in the hole with me. But the smoke continually dances out of my vision.
In a stroke of genius, I finally closed my eyes and counted to myself, "three, two, one…" and I opened my eyes. Another scream forced its way through my lips when I saw the ghostly tendrils mere inches from my nose. The great white smoke had come together to form the face of a rabbit
His huge eyes blazed red, the glow fading and coming back into existence when his eyelids closed. Yet, this was not why I had screamed. Half of his beautifully formed face was missing, gnawed at my maggots, which could still be seen munching at his rotting flesh.
