Jackson is my original character, but I don't own CSI.

This was inspired by one of my all-time favorite clips on America's Funniest Home Videos. That, and I thought it would be good to have a story where Jackson and D.B. interact. So, here's what I came up with, and I hope you enjoy it! And please review!

Jackson Sanders always enjoyed staying with Barbara Russell while his father Greg was at work, but this evening was special because Barbara's daughter Maya was visiting with her daughter Kaitlyn. Jackson and Kaitlyn adored each other, and were playing and laughing before Greg picked Jackson up to take him home.

"He's grown so much," Maya told her mother.

"I know," Barbara replied. "He and Katie both grow so fast."

Greg and D.B. walked into the house, and Barbara and Maya greeted them.

"Jackson and Maya are brushing their teeth," Barbara said. Since Jackson often stayed at the Russell's, he had an extra toothbrush and toothpaste there.

"Thanks," Greg said.

Jackson and Kaitlyn came running into the living room. "Mommy!" Kaitlyn said.

"Hi, daddy!" Jackson said. "Dere's a bug in da bafroom!"

"Yeah, a big one!" Kaitlyn exclaimed.

All the adults looked at each other. "A big bug?" D.B. asked.

"Grandpa, there's a spider!" Kaitlyn told him.

"Right dere in da bafroom!" Jackson said.

D.B. and Greg went to see the spider with Jackson and Kaitlyn following close behind. Right on the end of the bathroom counter was a daddy longlegs spider.

"Wow," D.B. said softly. "What should we do with it?"

"Kill it!" Kaitlyn said.

D.B. smiled softly at his granddaughter. He looked at Jackson, who looked like he was about to cry. "What's up, Jackson?"

"I can't kill it!" Jackson said, a few stray tears falling from his eyes.

"It's okay," Greg said as he crouched down by his son. "You don't have to kill it, Jacks."

"No?" Jackson asked quietly.

D.B. smiled at the two children. "I tell you what...how about we let it go outside?"

Kaitlyn nodded. "Okay." She looked at her dear friend. "That okay, Jackson?"

"Yeah," Jackson said, wiping his eyes. "He go outside?"

"Yeah," Greg said.

Barbara brought a sheet of paper towel to D.B. He took it and carefully grabbed the spider by one of its legs.

"Careful, Grandpa!" Kaitlyn said.

"I've got it," D.B. assured her. They walked through the house to the kitchen.

Jackson and Kaitlyn watched as Maya opened the back door and let D.B. out to set the spider free in the backyard. D.B. walked out into the yard a little bit.

Greg smiled as Jackson and Kaitlyn pressed their noses against the back window, watching as D.B. set the spider on the ground. "Okay, there he goes," Greg whispered to the kids.

D.B. laughed softly as the spider scurried off into the yard. He smiled when he saw the audience watching him in the window.

As D.B. walked back into the house, Jackson and Kaitlyn looked out the door.

"Bye, spider!" Kaitlyn called.

D.B. and Greg both smiled and laughed softly at the children waving and telling the spider goodbye. "You want to tell it bye-bye, Jacks?" Greg asked.

"Bye-bye, spider!" Jackson called. "See you later!"

The End.
