HummingRen sat quietly in his room reading yet another long book. Yoh crept up from the hallway to Ren's room, where he peeked in and watched as Ren sat cross-legged on the bed, so oblivious to the world around him that he only noticed him as Yoh sat down beside the reading boy.
"Yoh, what are you doing?" Ren asked irritably, looking up from his book. "Keeping you company of course!" The brunette replied in a cheery voice, rocking back and forth slightly in happiness. "Do you have to?" Ren asked, annoyed. "Of course! You looked lonely!" Yoh replied again, smiling even more.
Ren sighed and went back to his book, only to discover that once there was silence, Yoh had to start humming. Ren did not recognize the tune, but he knew that it was extremely irritating. "Yoh…" Ren started angrily, but keeping his voice as calm as he could stand. "Yes Ren?" Yoh said, stopping the humming to look at his friend. "Why do you have to hum?" Ren asked, closing his eyes in frustration as Yoh said, "It's too quiet, so I thought I'd hum something." Ren turned towards Yoh, but looked away after seeing the delighted look on Yoh's face. He's teasing me! He's trying to make me yell at him! Ren thought, going once again to his book.
Once Ren had started reading, Yoh hummed again, slightly louder than before. Yoh was having so much fun annoying Ren.
"Yoh…" Ren started again. "Yes?" Yoh replied, the humming deceasing at once. "Will you please knock off that humming?" Ren said, then to himself, before I hit you. Yoh gave no answer but started humming again. This was really started to make Ren's blood boil. "Asakura, I'm warning you." The Chinese shaman said, glancing at Yoh. The Japanese shaman on the other hand smiled mischievously saying, "I guess you'll just have to find a way to make me Ren."
The Chinese boy could think of a million ways to shut the other boy up, but came to his conclusion in a different way. "Fine." Ren said, then turned to face Yoh, leaned forward and kissed him.
Yoh was surprised, but made no move to push Ren away. The younger shaman pulled back and was glad to see the expression on the older boys face before returning to his book.
What Ren was most please about was that Yoh was so shocked that he hadn't started humming again. "Finally, quiet." Ren whispered, more to himself than Yoh. The Japanese shaman snapped out of his trance of being stunned and smiled again.
Just as Ren started a new chapter of his book the humming started again. "Asakura, what did I tell you?" Ren said, irritated yet again by the boy's ignorance. "You told me to stop the humming, you made me stop and now I'm starting again." Yoh smiled and continued to hum.
Ren was amazed that Yoh had recovered so quickly from being kissed by him, but stated to the boy, "Would you like me to stuff your mouth with Horohoro's socks and then duck tape it shut?" Yoh smiled once again. "No, so you can just find another way of occupying my mouth so I don't start humming." The shaman replied, grinning evilly. "Alright, I guess I will." Ren said, putting his book down on the floor and lunging at Yoh, who leaned back on the bed as the younger boy attacked his mouth with his own. The book lay on the floor, long forgotten for many hours, and the only noises coming from Yoh the rest of the night were moaning.
