So, this is the first story in a row of short key-word stories – Slenderpanda579 gives me a key word and I write a short story to this... I hope it is ok :)
Gift-wrap
It was the first Christmas after the Great Battle and the triumph of Harry Potter over Lord Voldemort. The castle of Hogwarts had been decorated very cheerful and everyone was enjoying the bright moods as they had passed dark times just a few months ago.
But as the whole castle was full of anticipation for the Christmas festivitys, one inhabitant of the dungeons did not have such a good time.
Severus Snape was highly troubled. He felt like a complete idiot and extremely desperate. How could he, the double agent who had fooled the Dark Lord, fail on this, a task everyone was able to solve?!
"Merlin, I managed to find a appropriate present and now it was all for nothing?", he mumbled and his gaze wandered from the role of gift-wrap in his right hand to the slightly bulky box in his left. He had never been a wizard to give up when things got hard – obviously – but this challenge was taking everything from him.
"Damn it..."
He started another attempt and started to wrap the box clumsily. He grabbed his wand the same time and tried to read a spell written down on a half-covered page of a book. While waving his wand he mumbled the spell – without suspecting what happened next...
"Severus, did you know Trewlany is sneaking around again hoping to see you standing under a mistle...toe..."
Rolanda stopped after shutting the door behind her and was totally thrilled by the sight of the decorated living room, especially the Christmas tree. She took a step forward and looked to the right, where she had already located a shadow, and could not stop a loud laugther.
"Stop grinning, help me!", moaned the figure of gift-wrap being decorated with bows in green, red and gold and a lots of glitter. Rolanda walked to the couch while pulling out her wand, still not able to fight the big grin on her face. With one wave she had freed Severus from the loads of paper and she sat down next to him.
"Well, seems like you took my suggestion of decoration a bit to serious..."
"It was an accident... Got the spell wrong...", grumbled Severus while hiding the box behind a pillow. Rolanda smiled and picked a bow out of his hair.
"Be honest, you wanted to be my present and thought you would need to wrap up!"
She placed the bow on the coffee table and in the same second discovered a book that did not quite fit into the book shelf of a Severus Snape.
" 'How to make your first joint Christmas perfect' ", she read. "Oooh... Sev..."
She gazed at him, being extremely surprised he cared so much about this and Severus tried to explain:"You... you said Christmas was your favorite event and I thought it should be something special..."
She gave him a light kiss and whispered:"Severus Snape, this is really sweet, but as long as I can spend Christmas with you and a lot of Christmas biscuits everything IS perfect!"
"So... I don´t need to wrap your present into this damned elk gift-wrap?! And it does not have to snow in here like in the Great Hall?!"
"No Severus! To put the present into a box is enough", Rolanda answered and he pulled her into a tight embrace and sighed:"Thank Merlin, because I am just not able to handle this strange gift-wrap...It scares me..."
