Disclaimer: I don't own nothing. Dedicated to the most avid Mouse fan I
know, Bren.
Mouse sighed as she sat back in the leather interior of her ship in the docking bay, not wanting to leave just yet.
"Having fun, love?" She startled back when she heard his familiar voice.
"Stop that, Ray! It gives me the jaggies." He just grinned as he sat next to her.
He stared at her face, trying to get into her mind and read what she was thinking.
"Ray - how did you survive all that time in the web?"
"Easy, with protection." She hit him hard in the chest.
"You know what I mean, all by yourself with no one to look after..."
"Just the same as you did, the way you hacked yourself just about everywhere in the ruddy net I suppose."
She sighed heavily as she sank deeper into the seat, closing her eyes. Ray put his arm around her neck, reaching up into hair to tease it. He always enjoyed the feeling of her hair, the way it tingled on your hair like an ion cloud but still solid at the same time.
"Poor Dot." she spoke up abruptly.
"What?"
"Poor Dot. I mean, here I am reassuring her and comforting her that her relationship with Bob will be ok, and now I just up and leave. What will she think of me? What will everyone think of me?"
"They'll think of you as the same mercenary that I fell in love with - unpredictable, yet dependable. Besides, they all know you'll be back with your charm and wit."
She looked at him with a blank stare for awhile before slowly grinning. "You always know how to turn a girl's head, you know that?"
"Oh, I've been told that by a few girls before..."
She hit him again before he grabbed her hand, refusing to let go as he caught her up in a long, rough kiss.
"Let's get going before I started having even more regrets about this." She resolved as they came up for air, reaching for the ignition.
"My Mouse, ever the considerate one." He grumbled, settling back as Ship started up.
