I promise

Running through a flower field, the sky matching her eyes, the wind dancing with her short brown hair. She approached a green haired woman sitting beside the lake dazing off.

"I came again ehe~" the woman turned around surprised, her yellow eyes wide open.

"What are you doing here Chiaki?" the woman asked "But I wanted to see you C.C." Chiaki pouted

"Is that so? Then hurry back to town, being out here too long is bad for you" C.C. sighed

"Don't be so mean!" Chiaki sat beside C.C. "Ne C.C. is being immortal great?"

"No, not really why?" "Well you could be reckless all you want, eat a lot of food, do all these great things without running out of time" Chiaki smiled sadly staring at the sky.

"Sure there are those things to be enjoyed but eternal life is not as nice as it may seem" C.C. turned and faced Chiaki "Chiaki, you are my first friend in a very long time so I don't want you to experience the same things I have"

"Is that why you wont give me the Geass?" she asked

"Yes, that's partly my reason"

"Then what's the other?"

"A wish, I know its too simple but that is the other part of why I wont give you the Geass" C.C. smiled

"You've given me a lot of things C.C. so tell me what is that wish?" Chiaki asked

"My wish . . . if there is a god who will grant my wish, just one wish. My wish is to die" Chiaki was quite shocked

"I'll tell you why, your face tells me you wanted an explanation anyways," C.C. laughed,

"When a person dies it is granted that that person will never come back no matter how hard you wish for it. The bonds, memories, and feelings you make they all feel so uplifting but these feelings are short-lived for people like me. We who cannot die walk this earth creating memories and happy moments but those who share it with us will soon disappear and soon instead of blissful we carry miserable memories because we can never experience it again."

Silence ensues between the two; the only thing you can hear is the song of the wind.

"Then I'll make you a promise C.C." Chiaki said, breaking the silence "No matter how many times I die, I'll be reborn and I'll always search for you so you'll never be alone. We can make new memories and repeat old ones, with this I'm sure you wont be able to say "I'm lonely" anymore" she smiled

"I'll take you for your word then Chiaki" C.C. stated

The following year in the 4th day of the 5th month Chiaki past away from a terminal illness. After the funeral C.C. stood at Chiaki's grave "I hope you keep your promise Chiaki, I'll be waiting" and she walked away.

~2017~

At the open campus fair of Ashford Academy

"Oh? That student with the green hair… Ah! That's C.C. I finally found her! But looks like she has found another "accomplice" my, my, first Mao now this. She really doesn't change. It looks like she wouldn't be needing my company this time around" she walked to the exit smiling "I will wait for the day that you will need me again C.C. I'm a very patient person"

"Arrigatou Chiaki the next time I'll surely greet you properly" C.C. smiled glancing at the brown haired woman walking out of the academy "Ah! The pizza…" she exclaimed as the pizza dough that the knightmare frame (piloted by Suzaku) was twirling around flew on to a tree.
