Reichenbach
Your trembling hand picks up the phone
You don't see him anywhere
The wind whispers 'you're all alone'
In the middle of this hellish nightmare
You finally click 'answer',
Your breathing halts,
You pay the cabdriver
recounting the faults
He tells you to stop
Then to look up
"I'm on the rooftop."
Your throat closes up.
He weakly apologizes,
Though he doesn't need too,
steps closer to the ledges
Saying all the lies are true
You know he's lying
Then he pauses-
He keeps on going
Uttering the causes
You tell him to "Shut up!"
But instead he asks a favor
You turn your face up
Your heart pounding like thunder
"It's my noteā¦"
He whispers
"Sorry it's not handwrote,"
His phone clatters
He takes a small step forward
Arms spread out
'You were never a coward!'
You want to shout
Instead, you scream
But it's too late
It's like a bad dream
Alas, his fate.
Falling, tumbling down
Like Alice through the rabbit hole
You feel like you're about to drown
Losing all control
He is a fumbling blackbird
His coat billowing
His cries unheard
An eye blinking
He collides against the concrete
Shrieks of terror ring out
You're knocked off your feet
in a full blown freak out.
You regain your footing
And rip through the crowds
Your head is throbbing
While others are bowed
You must reach him
Nothing else matters
The faces are grim
Your heart starts to shatter
His pale face stained with crimson
Blood seeping onto wet pavement
His glacier eyes barren
The mangled corpse, almost emplacement
You grab his wrist
Search for a beat
But none did exist
Not on the silent street
You were pulled away
And ever so quickly
All in disarray
You walked away blindly
Now you stand at the grave
With all being said
You offer a final wave
The hero now dead.
