Hey so this is for DerangedFaerie's challenge. I used a random generator and got the couple Remus and Tonks along with the genre of angst. At first I thought that it would be SO easy since their story is such a sad one, but then it occurred to me that I've never written angst before. So bare with me if you would be so kind as to give me some feedback, that would be grand!

The sounds of spells and curses surrounded her entire being and smoke from a fire clouded her senses. It took much effort to crush the overwhelming feeling to relieve her stomach of its contents as she stared down at the broken body of the boy next to her. Her head reeled with what ifs: what if that curse had hit her instead? What would happen to Teddy? And Remus? The vile she had so valiantly fought off came back with a vengeance, and found a new home on the cold stone next to the unknown boy. Coming back to her senses, Tonks hurriedly scooped up the young boy and laid him safely behind a nearby statue. Eyes crackling with rage, she tightened her grip on her wand and turned to reenter the battle.

The last time he had been able to catch a glimpse of his wife had been twenty minutes ago, and the anxiety of not knowing what had become of her was starting to affect on his concentration. Currently he was sporting a dashing, as George told him, bleeding cut above his eye along with a nasty looking wound on his chest that was already producing yellow-green puss. Glancing over his shoulder, he finally saw what he had been waiting for; his lovely disheveled wife appeared just outside the doorway along with two death eaters whom she was holding of quite well.

Feeling his gaze on her, Tonks' eyes sought him out in the crowd.

When their eyes connected, both were overcome with love that showed in the way they stared adoringly at each other with serene smiles on their faces.

His body jolted with pain. Remus looked down, generous amounts of his blood were seeping on his robes. Slowly he glanced back up to the face of his loving wife.

Horror spread through her entire being, "REMUS!" she cried out as she ran towards him and cradled his body as he crumpled to the floor.

"Don't leave me! Don't leave me! What will I do without you? What about Teddy? Please, Remus, don't leave us! I love you so much!" she lamented as she sat bent over him, clutching to his robes. His breathing was becoming shallower, his heartbeat fainter.

"Tonks."

"Yes Remus?"

"I-"

A sudden flash of green.

Tonks eyes became wide and lifeless as she slumped over Remus. A tear rolled down his cheek.

"- love you."

Releasing his final breath, he joined her.

It's short, but that's how I roll. And before you complain to me saying how I should write more, remember this: all the best things in life never last long.
