Hey. Just something I've been thinking about writing for the last couple of days. Bahaha, I'm addicted to writing these things. The reviews keep me going. HINT HINT.

"Toph, do you see Katara or Aang? They disappeared," Sokka asked, confused, scratching his head as he looked around in the bustling street.
"Why, no, I don't," Toph said, in mock-surprise.
Sokka paused. "Oh. Sorry."
Toph let a small smile tug at her lips. She loved that. She loved when he did that.
Sure, she always appeared annoyed. If she didn't, they would think something was up. The truth is, nothing made her happier than when he made one of those mistakes, when he forgot she was blind.
For the first 12 years of her life, no one could ever forget she was blind. That was all they saw: a blind girl.
At first, she thought that was what he saw... That was why he was so kind to her.
She thought that was the only reason FOR kindness: pity. That was all anyone would see, that's the only reason anyone would want to care for her.
He cared for her. He protected her. He stuck up for her. It wasn't because she was blind... It was because he genuinely cared.
Call her pathetic, but genuine care was so rare in her short life that she fell for him... It seemed so amazing and unlikely that she should ever find anyone who cared for her that she clung to the first person who said a kind word to her because of who she was, not because of the fact that she couldn't see.
As she became more exposed and accustomed to this amazing care, from other people, it would make sense that she would detach from the first honest voice she'd ever heard... but she didn't. She was in too deep to get out.
He cared more for others than her at certain points in their relationship... other GIRLS... That stung and hurt and made her feel alone again. But at some point he moved on from them, and kept caring for her.
He never, ever moved on from her.
He was a constant reminder in her life that she was capable of a normal life. He reminded her, with his bumbling words and blunders, that she was human. She wasn't just a blind, angry little girl, incapable of experiencing love. She was whole, and nothing was wrong with her.
Cuuute I think it pleases Toph a little whenever someone forgets she's blind. It would please me. Please review!
