The blue eyes wavered as it watched the light shimmered before them. It was another adventure for them, another run through the days with battles and hardship. It wasn't as if he didn't care about any of the world. No, this world was his friends' world and the world where he finally opened his heart--the world of his hope. But another battle meant, another danger looming over them each day. Another danger... another threat that could vanish his light at any second.
"Protect Hikari, Takeru."
It was just an old promise. It shouldn't mean that heavy but it was. And it wasn't just for a mere promise...
His blue eyes watched as his light stepped forward to her fate and as she went further, he reached to the hope he had in his heart and put a step forward, forward to her place.
He would watch over her, in the shade, behind her, but never to cease. He would walk the ground she walked on, embrace the light she shone ever so lightly that she wouldn't even feel his touch.
He would protect his light. And it wasn't just for a mere promise.
