Summary: Jean gets headaches all the time and Scott knows the cure. Scott/Jean
Jean Grey had headaches all the time. She went to bed with them, woke up with them, and had them randomly during the day. She had them all the time. So it was no surprise when a sudden headache came drilling into her skull on a rainy day afternoon. Sighing she put down the book she was reading and headed into the kitchen for some Tylenol. Reaching into the cabinet and pulling out the red and white bottle and twisting off the child proof lid. She was so focus at the task at hand that she didn't hear the footsteps enter the kitchen behind her.
"Jean?" Startled, Jean dropped the bottle sending the little white pills to the floor, scattering.
"Scott?"
"What are you doing?" He asked walking over and bending down to help her with the mess.
"Headache."
Once all the pills were off the floor and back into the bottle, Jean kept out two and swallowed them down with a glass of water. Scott was now sitting on a stool watching her every move.
"I used to get them all the time too, right behind the eyes." Scott said, tapping his ruby sunglasses.
"I still get them, especially after - " but Jean stopped suddenly.
"After what?"
"Nothing, it's nothing."
"Jean, after what?"
"After the nightmares, I get bad headaches after I have nightmares." Jean told him, turning around and putting her empty glass into the sink and began washing it.
"I hear you at night you know?" Scott said, and Jean stopped rinsing the glass to turn and face him.
"My bedroom is across the hall from yours I'm bound to hear something." Scott said.
"What do you hear?" Jean asked, worried what his answer might be.
"Mostly stuff breaking." Jean sighed a wave of relief.
"Sometimes I can hear you cry." Scott told her silently, and he saw Jean tense up.
"If you ever want to talk or anything you can always find me."
"Thank you, but I'm fine. Really" Jean told him and soon an awkward, silence covered the room.
"Does your head still hurt?" Scott asked and Jean nodded.
"I have an idea, come here." Scott told her patting the stool next to him, Jean hesitantly walked over and sat down.
"My mom used to do this for my dad when he had headaches." Jean nodded, while Scott placed his thumbs on her temples and slowly began to massage them. They sat there for a few minutes in silence until Scott stopped.
"Feel better?"
"Yeah." Jean said not even realizing her headache was gone, but that she missed Scott's touch.
"I should go, but tell me if you get anymore all right?" Scott told her.
"Thank you."
"Anytime."
Scott exited the kitchen, leaving Jean alone with her thoughts. As Jean got off the stool and left the kitchen, she thought to herself. Maybe getting headaches all the time wasn't a bad thing.
