"Maybe we could talk later."
Shepard blinked in surprise.
She finally gets back onto the ship from their failure mission to obtain the Prothean data as well as witness the fall of the Asari home planet to seek the comfort of her lover, Kaidan, only to be tossed aside. He didn't even look at her, his gaze directed to the large window to look outside into the void of nothingness. Stunned silence on her part was the only thing in the room as Kaidan did not meet her eyes. At a loss for words, she simply turned around and quickly fled the room to the elevator, jamming the button repeatedly to her cabin.
"I don't want any visitors, EDI; make sure no one gets in here." Her voice sounded shaky and she prayed EDI wouldn't say something that would cause her to break down.
"Understood Shepard, logging you out."
Shepard sighed in relief.
The door quietly shut, locks clicking into place as she moved towards her fish tank to feed them. A small part of her shouldn't be surprised; he does have a lot of things on his mind right now involving his students and family back on Earth; yet a small part argued back against her. She was saving humanity, for fucks sake, he couldn't help be the support she needs when she is carrying the existence of the galaxy on her shoulders?
Apparently not, she sighed as she fell back onto her bed, the weight of her problems crushing her still as she fell into a restless sleep.
Sorry for the shortness of this story, just trying to warm back up into everything. I haven't written anything in a while now. Feedback would be amazing, and please let me know if I should even continue with this little story!
