BOOM! The force of the explosion jolted me awake. Looking outside, I saw a smoking crater in the middle of the forest where the summer camp was situated. Karen was next to me in a second. "What was that?"

"I dunno." I was confused. What the hell did that? It looks like a Dragon Slave hit…

At breakfast, most of the kids were talking about the explosion. Most of the kids thought some mining company did it. But my friends and I had a different idea…

"I'm telling you, Lina could not have conjured up that big of a Dragon Slave!"

"come on, who else could have done it? She must have had a talisman of some sort…"

Mya glared at Karen. She always had some objetion to her ideas. I decided to speak up.

"Maybe Xellos did it. He's seen Lina do it enough times…" Bad idea.

"Are you nuts? It would've been TWICE the size of this one!" Mya's greenish-grey eyes flashed. I blinked.

"Man, Mya, I never knew you were so obsessive…" Derrik grinned. He always had some comeback to anyone's coments. Reminded me of Xel in a way…

"All right, kids, hurry up! We're hiking today!" One of the counselors was going around and rushing all the conversaitons to a close.

"Ugh. I hate hiking." Karen imitated hanging herself.

The sun shined down in the cool forest, creating a beautiful scene. "At least it's nice out. Last time it was the surface of the sun." Mya trudged up the steep hill. She met us at the top of the rise "Hey! That's the crater from the explosion!"

"Let's go investigate!" I yelled. We ran down the hill, falling over eachother in our haste. When we reached the bottom, Derrik spotted a small, silvery crystal in the middle of the crater.

"What is it?" I asked, picking it up.

"I dunno, maybe it's a type of Soul Orb…" Karen suddered.

"Doubt it. Too big." Mya took it. "But we'd better not lose it."

"Uh, what's that light?" Derrik was staring at the crystal. A white light shone from it's center.

Oh, crap… I thought. Suddenly, the crystal stattered and formed a portal in front of us. A shadowy figure stepped out…

"Ulp…"
