Notes: A tiny one-shot I wrote post episode.
They laugh. They play.
They are one.
And I'm not.
I'm on the outside. I'm not part of what they are.
I'm the extra piece in a completed jigsaw puzzle.
And that seems about right, after all I was only brought here to look in. Never to be a part of them.
I'll never forget that, and it feels like neither have they.
They all whirl past me now, oblivious. But if the ride's good why pay attention to the scenery? It's only a distraction. It can get in the way.
And that's all I've served to be. A road block, a speed bump along the way.
Maybe I've outstayed my welcome. I certainly almost outstayed my life. And what little life I have threatens my job. What do I have left?
All these hours in the dark are playing with my mind. I've been spending too much time in the dark.
I do need more sunlight in my life.
I need to leave.
