Cameron had heard from Chase, Amber was deteriorating. Fast. She hadn't seen Wilson since House had collapsed on the bus, that reminded her of the times working with House.

The ripped off the latex gloves and chucked them into the bin as she started to move away from the E.R a nurse stopped her "Dr Cameron there's….."

She quickly silenced her before taking off "Not right now, I have to find somebody"

She moved swiftly around the hospital, slipping between patients and doctors with ease, she had been working here for over 4 years now, she knew the hospital like the back of her hand.

She went to his office, House's office & even went to where Amber was, he fragile body, lying on bed. Cameron's mind flashed back, and shook the thought out of her mind. She took a shuddering breath and turned her back and carried on her search for Wilson.

She opened the doors to the cafeteria, and saw him hunched over his coffee, just staring into nothingness.

She slowly walked towards and placed a hand on his shoulder, he raised his head to show his acknowledgment. She moved round to take the seat opposite him and moved her hand to cover his.

They sat in a comfortable silence, as Cameron tried to figure out what to say. She swallowed hard, and looked at his worn features.

"I would give anything…for you not to go through what you might go through" Her eyes sprang with tears.

He nodded in response, to tire to speak or form thoughts. She looked around the quiet cafeteria, before continuing.

"I've been through this…..when my husband died, it was the worst day of my life, but I would give anything not to be in your position."

They lapsed back into a comfortable silence, she wasn't sure for how long, her hand over his, giving him comfort.

The silenced was pierced by her pager going off, signalling a code in the E.R; Wilson looked up and gave a smile small knowing that he understood why she had to go.

Cameron gave his hand a small squeeze before getting up to leave, Wilson turned back to his cold coffee. When she got to the doors of the cafeteria she turned back and looked at his slumped form.

She wished she was in place, because they all knew what he was about go through & you never wish that on a friend.
