Story I had to write for an English assignment. I had to choose one story and rewrite it for a little kid. Here's my version of Lean Mean Thirteen...
Disclaimer: I own none of the characters, as they all belong to one Miss Janet Evanovich.
Once upon a time there was a girl named Stephanie. Stephanie had a happy life because she had a lot of friends and a hamster she loved a lot. One person she was not friends with was Dickie. Dickie was a mean boy who almost nobody liked. Stephanie and Dickie fought all the time and everyone knew they didn't like each other.
One day Dickie ran away. Nobody knew where he was and everybody thought Stephanie had something to do with it.
Stephanie's friend Joe was the first to tell her.
"They all think you told him to go away" Joe told her.
"But I didn't!" Stephanie replied.
Stephanie's friend Ranger talked to her next.
"I believe that you didn't tell him to go away" Ranger told her.
"Nobody else believes me!" Stephanie replied. She was getting quite upset.
"We will find Dickie and prove you are innocent" Ranger declared.
And so they did.
Ranger was good at finding people because he had a lot of friends who see a lot of things. Joe was also good at finding people because he was a hall monitor and he had special hall monitor privileges.
While Ranger and Joe were looking for Dickie by themselves, Stephanie and two of her best friends, Lula and Connie, looked for him. It was hard for Stephanie to look for Dickie because no one would say anything. They all thought that Stephanie had been mean to Dickie and made him go away.
The next day after school Stephanie decided to visit Joe. She walked to his house and his mother let her go up to his room. Inside, Stephanie was in for a shock.
"Why is Dickie here?" Stephanie asked.
Joe and Dickie were sitting in the middle of the room, playing with Joe's toy train set.
"Some bullies were trying to give Dickie a Chinese Burn so he is taking the week off to hide" Joe explained.
"Yeah, so I had to stay at Joe's house after school in case they came to my house" Dickie added.
"Why didn't anyone tell me?" Stephanie demanded.
"Because you would have to somebody" Joe replied.
Stephanie decided that it was a reasonable excuse and said that as long as Dickie came back to school next week and told everyone that Stephanie had nothing to do with it, everything was okay.
So everyone lived happily ever after.
The End
Thank you SoPlumCrazy, I fixed it. =]
