When we first met
Under that tree
I had no way of knowing
What you'd mean to me.
It wasn't love at first sight -
More like hate at first fight -
It seemed too wrong
For it to ever feel right.
How could I have known
That I would be left alone
After the adventures were won
...And you were gone?
We're from two different worlds
Above and below
Perhaps our fate is a river
Through which even magic can't flow.
Our species aren't similar
But our eyes were the same
You said that I fixed you...
But it was all in vain.
You're buried deep now,
And we work underground
On our only hope
Of bringing you back around.
Until that day comes -
If it ever we see -
The only bit of you yet alive
Is safe with me.
With your eye I see
As my heart you keep.
