Growing, Leaving, and Deciding
She looked around the small room that her and Rogue had shared for the past four years. Two beds, books, lamps, a window… It was home.
She stood up and walked to the window, looking toward the courtyard, she saw it now with so many playing and practicing. It was a perfect replica of how it was when she first came even though it had been blown up just a few years prior.
She fallowed Jean into this gigantic building with the professor close beside
"This will be you home now Kitty, I am sure you'll like it here. Jean will show you your room then I'll introduce you to the others."
Even as the Professor talked my stomach turned nervously
Kitty smiled at her memory. So many things had happened since then. More things than any one person could count, and yet even with all the bad things (and there were a lot of bad things) she still would never go back.
Once again she turned and walked to her bed, after sitting down she picked up a picture that sat next to her bed, it was her and Kurt. The picture was of the two of them in their graduation robs just after the ceremony, something was missing though, Evan… Aside from that they were happy.
She remembered the day that Evan left, she understood why and he did help when they needed it, but still she felt betrayed. Like she did every time she thought of Logan, even now that brought tears to her eyes.
There was a small knock on the door and a voice that belonged to Bobby, "Kat you gotta hurry otherwise I don't think you're going."
It was the professor's idea. After graduation each of them was to go to college, even if they planned to stay and teach here. College hadn't been in her mind at all, at least not since she moved here. Sure when she first started high school, before she found out she was a mutant, she had always planned on going. But after being here for so long that thought had long since left, and she wanted more than anything to stay and teach, to help.
"Once you're down with school Kitty."
The professor had said the same thing to all the others who left…
It was the same for them…
They all grew up and had to go on with their lives, and she wasn't any different. Last night was the last night that she would spend in this room, at least for a very long while, and that was scary. Sure she gave up her normal life to come here, but here she was completely normal just one of many that had a power, there that wouldn't be the case… She will be going to a place where she is one of the few, and maybe the only known mutant…
"Kitty hurry up!"
"Coming…"
Here it goes. Today is the beginning of something new, something frightening, something exciting….
~End~
A/N: I was wondering what it would be like to leave for college for a x-man. And this is what I got… Not my best, but it's from the heart. Enjoy
