A/N: Here's a little One Tree Hill drabble-y ficlet. It's my take on the departure of Lucas and Peyton. Obviously the he (POV) is Lucas. Anyway, enjoy the drabble. R&R. Thanks! –Mac

Rest Of Their Story
Their story is going to be a long one. He can see it sprawl out before them for years.
Years of a happy marriage, years of a home, years of a family. Years that brought more children (though none of the pregnancies or births are ever as difficult as the first), years of birthdays for Sawyer and her brothers and sisters, years of the trials of parenthood. Years that brought new friends (though the old ones are never lost). Years that saw new careers, and the return of old ones. Years that saw their family grow and expand beyond even his imagination. Years of hope and love and happiness.
He can see their story—maybe not word for word, not yet, but he can see it coming as easily as he can see the road open up before them.
Maybe it's not a story that would sell. There's no drama. There's no suspense. There are no surprises. But it's their story and it's more than a three hundred page book can contain.
And he knows they'll have a happily ever after. There's no question. He can be sure of it now.
So as he, Peyton and Sawyer drive off into the sunset leaving Tree Hill behind them, he is ready for the rest of their story to finally begin.
