A Fine Morning
A snippet of an alternate way to end the revival.
A Fine Morning
Lorelai walked into the kitchen the morning after she married Luke, still walking on clouds. The party had been everything she could possibly wish for, with her friends and loved ones surrounding her and Luke and wishing them the best possible. Rory had been by her side, markedly a little droopy but her happiness for the couple was evident as well in her smiles and constant hugs (that Luke accepted with little to no fight, the old grump).
Rory was already up and about on her computer, typing away, but she put it away when Lorelai smiled at her with a cup of coffee in hand.
"Working on your new article?"
"Yeap. I mean, I have no idea how I'm going to sell it, but..."
"You'll figure it out, you always do"
"Yeah, I guess"
The Gilmores (or Gilmore-Danes and Gilmore) enjoyed their pleasant silence as Lorelai drank her morning coffee and Rory bit into a shiny apple. Suddenly, the older woman frowned bemusedly at her daughter.
"You're eating fruit" - she mused, and Rory smiled tentatively, sliding a hand over her stomach.
"Yeah"
And yeah, I deeply disliked the revival and that fucking end, geez. Anyway, this is my take on how it could have gone.
