"Troy, you can't leave!" Gabriella exclaimed.

"Gabi, I can't back out now." Troy said, looking at his girlfriend.

"When does your plane leave?" Gabriella asked, fearing the answer.

"Sunday at 1 p.m."

"Troy, that's two days from now!" Gabriella exclaimed.

Far across the distance
And spaces between us

It was Sunday at 12:50 p.m. Troy and Gabriella were at the airport waiting room. Troy had considerbaly shorter hair. Gabriella was standing next to him, holding his hand.

"Flight 23 to Washington D.C. now boarding." The voice over the intercom said.

"That's my flight, Gabs. I gotta go." He said sadly, looking down at his one love.

"Troy, you can't go! I can't survive without you!" Gabriella pleaded.

Troy gave her a hug and a kiss.

"Love you." he whispered in her ear.

"I love you too, Troy." Gabriella said, shaking from the effort to keep her tears in.

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime

Flashback:

Troy and Gabriella were on a midhight summer picnic in Alburquerque Park.

"Troy?" Gabriella asked, nibbling an apple.

"Yeah, Gabs?" he responded, looking at her.

"Do you believe in true love? That two people who are in love can stay in love forever?" she asked seriously, looking into his gray-blue eyes.

"Yeah, I do. Why do you ask?" he asked.

"Because that's how I feel right now. With you." she said.

Troy looked surprised. "What?" he asked.

"I love you, Troy Alexander Bolton." She said sweetly, then leaned over and gave him a kiss. Their first kiss.

"I love you too, Gabriella Renee Montez." he said, and gave her a kiss.

End of Flashback

It was five months later.

Gabriella's cell phone rang. She picked it up, not looking at the Caller ID, thinking ot was Taylor McKessie, her best friend.

"Hello, is this Gabriella Montez?" asked a man on the other line. Defiantly not Taylor. Or anyone she knew.

"Yeah, this is she." Gabriella replied, getting a bit worried.

"Wea are sorry to inform you that Troy Bolton has died in the li…" he said, but not able to continue.

Gabriella's phone dropped out of her hand. Her whole world was spinning around her in overdrive and she coulden't control it at all.
