Hello people of the Fanfiction multiverse. (Man I wanted to say that for a long time now.) You know my name and this is my first One-shot. Now the plot is that Sonic and co. are trying to escape a secret base but something bad happens. You need to read to know, no spoilers. So now I have a multi-chapter story going on called Bakugan Battle Brawlers Faith, it you have an OC that you want in the story, read the guideline in Chapter 5. Now to the disclaimer! Shadow's demise
Fire, everywhere. Even as they all ran from the oncoming inferno all that they could smell was smoke and the mix of burning flesh and paper. It was not a pleasant sight, it never was. As they kept running they were getting more and more exhausted from the smoke inhalation, all that they wanted was the taste of fresh air. What caused this, well, allow me to show you.
18 minute earlier
"Hurry with that wire Sonic." Tails urged with great fear. Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and Knuckles were all put into a secret base of Dr. Eggman's to defuse a bomb that could be used to destroy not one of the Chaos Emeralds, but all of them. "I am, I am, it's not easy to do so with someone nagging at you every three seconds." Sonic retorted and ended up dropping the wire for the 18th time. "Forget it, let me deal with it." Shadow said in a very pissed off manner. Everyone knew that Shadow was easy to piss off, but not to act like a dick to Sonic since he practically threw him into a pillar of propane tanks that none of them noticed. "Ahh, danm Shadow no need to… oh shit, RUN!" All of the tank had burst open and had hit the bomb, which was not non-explosive yet and yet it off.
Present time
"The door has got to be close by, it just has to be" Knuckles said in a panic voice. He wasn't the only one panicking, Tails and Sonic were doing so as well, but strangely not Shadow. Then a voice on the comm. System had said, "ATTENTION, EXTREME DANGER IN ALL THE BASE, EVACUATE IMMEDEATELY, TRY AND AVOID THE FIRE LOCK DOORS." And repeated for two more times. "Of all things we overlooked, it HAD to be fire lock doors. Oh, wait, the exit were gonna make it." Sonic said overexcitedly "Not unless the doors have anything to say about that." Tails said in a crestfallen voice as the doors were about to close. But Shadow used the last bolt of energy he had left to stop and pry the doors open wide enough for them to get through, when they go into the open area, the realized Shadow was still at the doors. As hard as they tried, they couldn't do anything but let Shadow fall back into the halls of fire. "If I go," Shadow said, "tell Amy, Blaze, Silver, and the other that, I failed them, again." And with the the doors slammed shut just as the fire reached Shadow and burning him. The crew was dumbfounded, they didn't want to believe it, but they had to, it is truth, not ambition. They tried to re-open the doors all day but had no luck and had to leave the area. Leave Shadow behind. That was as they said, Shadow's Demise.
