Lancelot kissed Gwen noisily. The girl answered the embrace rather absently and he simply closed his arms around her instead of pushing her into displays of affection she obviously didn't want. He loved her so much...
"What is it, my love?"
"Nothing."
He forced her chin up gently:
"Tell me. Did you fight with Morgana again?"
"Yes. She told me I was selfish. That I tried to force her to do things she didn't want."
"Like being nice to Arthur?"
"He's in the hospital! And she didn't even want to go visit him!"
"How did he hurt himself this time?"
"I'm not sure. Merlin was all gloomy and didn't say much except that he'd been knocked out and woke up in someone bed with broken ribs."
"Who's bed?"
"Morgause, I think."
"Gwen, Arthur wakes up in Morgana's sister bed and you wonder why she doesn't want to see him?"
Gwen glared at her boyfriend.
"Seriously, I don't understand how she can love him so much; he's such an ass. Always waking up in someone else bed. She doesn't have a jealous bone into her."
"I must say it's kind of odd."
"I promise you, she dreams about him all the time! She even feels him even if he's not the room! She knew he was in the hospital before anybody else."
"Where is she now?"
"Pastry shop I guess. She needs her ration of sugar every time Arthur messes her up, which is so often it's a wonder she's still so slim and fit."
At the same moment, in the hospital, Merlin bumped into Morgana coming in.
"Hey Beautiful! I'm glad you finally decide to come over..."
She kissed him on the cheek swiftly before escaping his hug.
"Hello Merlin. How is he?"
"His usual self. Arrogant, childish, cruising every nurse around. Woops, sorry. I didn't mean that."
A single tear dripped from her beautiful green eyes.
"Why can't I fall in love with you instead of his Royal Stupidity?"
"Don't let him hear that, or he's going to try to kill me. Again. And don't let handsome doctors hot on you or you know he'll go cranky."
"I promise. Which room?"
"Second one on your left, Sweetie."
"Thanks Merlin."
Arthur heard the door opened slowly. He was hoping it was her. Of course it was. He didn't deserve her. She was too good to him, his star guiding his sinking ship. She sat on the bed near him, her hair falling into her face, so he didn't see her cry. Arthur brought her into his arm at once to kiss her.
"I'm sorry. I love you."
