Welcome Home

"Hello? Is anyone here? Where am I?" Tris asked. All she remembered was David shooting, seeing her mom, and waking up in a field of white daisies. There was a bridge going across a stream to a city that she could faintly make out through the mist. Tris heard a rustling sound behind her and turned around. Her mother and father.

"Beatrice," her mother said, her eyes shining and her arms open wide. Instinct took over, and Tris rushed over. She felt the arms of her mother and father engulf her in a tight embrace.

"You've done so well," she heard her father say. "Your mother and I are so proud." Tris felt her eyes glisten with unshed tears. However, they started to drip down her face from what she caught sight of next. Christina with her head in her hands, and Tobias standing over her body. Tobias. She saw him squeeze her hand, hoping she was somehow still alive, and when nothing happened, Tris watched as he broke down.

"Mom. Dad. I have to go back there," she whispered, rivers now flowing from her eyes. "I...I can't just leave them there. Christina. Tobias...I can't..." By now Tris was on the ground with her body racked with sobs.

"You don't know how much we've all said that," said a group of voices. Tris turned around and a group of people gathered around with their eyes filled with sympathy and understanding. Tris automatically recognized Will, Marlene, Lynn, and Tori. A man with tan skin and sea green eyes took a step toward her shaking body and extended his hand. With teary eyes, she took it, and he gently helped her up.

"I'm Finnick Odair," he said. One by one, the other people stepped out and introduced themselves. Fred Weasley, Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, Lily and James Potter, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Augustus Waters, Alaska Young, Will Herondale, Primrose Everdeen, Rue, Max Lightwood, Severus Snape, Jordan Kyle...

"We can see them," said the man named Sirius Black. "We can see them, touch them, and talk to them, but they can't see us." The boy named Will Herondale stepped out of the group and took her other hand.

"We all have loved ones down on Earth. You're not alone," Will said. He led her to where Tris saw a girl standing on a bridge. She was clutching a ring, and tears streamed down her face. A man in dark, long robes stood next to her with his arms around her in comfort.

"She is Tessa Gray," Will said, pointing at the girl on the bridge. "She was the first dream of my soul, and she still is," he said through misty eyes. He turned to the man. "He is Jem Carstairs, the other part of me. My parabati. My brother. They meet every year on that bridge, and I always go and meet them there." By now Will had tears rolling down his face. Tris stared at the couple on the bridge before turning back to the rest of the people.

"I still don't understand," Tris said quietly with small tears dropping one by one. "Where am I?"

"Your home, Beatrice Prior," Augustus Waters said.
"Welcome home."
