Hi. Back again. Since my last one-shot didn't go to well, I decided to do a different one.
Rocky's POV
Wow. This is a first. I'm the only one in the house. It's completely empty except for me. I'm here watching a movie. A Lifetime movie. (So sue me, I like 'em.) One about a Teenage boy and girl being abused. Man, these things can really tear you up. I see the boy crying. That brings back a memory—the very first time Colt cried. It was right after Grandpa died. We got home from the funeral real late, and I could tell Colt was about to lose it.
FLASHBACK Colt, Rocky, and Tum sat in their room, totally silent.
"I feel like it's my fault."
"What? Colt, Grandpa's death was NOT your fault! Why would you say that?"
"I worked him too hard, guys! I was always so self-centered. I always wanted to stay with him, even when I knew he needed a break..." Colt trailed off.
Red was forming around his eyes and on his cheeks.
"Colt—"Rocky started.
"Shut UP!" He snapped, taking shots at the walls and beds and throwing all his strength into it.
"Tum, go out in the hall and wait." Rocky said.
"Why? I won't get in his way."
"Just do what I say! Go!" He yelled and pushed him out, locking the door behind him.
He tried to think of how to stop him while he was still at it. Suddenly there was someone outside the door, shouting to be let in. It was their dad.
"Dad, it's okay, I've got it under control!" Rocky shouted through the door.
"That doesn't sound like under control to me! Open the door!" He shouted
"Colt STOP!!" He grabbed his brother around the waist, trying to keep him from destroying the room. Colt tried to hit him, but he blocked it.
"Colt, I can't fight you! You're my brother, and I love you!"
And that was it. It was like, the spell he was under had been lifted, and he stopped, sat down right where he was, and started sobbing.
"I'm s-sorry, Rocky. I didn't mean it." Rocky barely heard all this through his sobs.
And after that, the night went on pretty well, except no one said anything much.
And that was that. Colt hasn't cried since. (Sound of door opening and closing.)
"Oh, I gotta go. They're home. Bye!"
